Cussie World...

Ok so I am not here as much as I should.  Been lazy at the blogging thing.  But thought I would send a little update for anyone who is interested.

Been a busy summer here in Michigan, swimming lessons and VBS for the girly, who, last time i checked is 6 going on 16, omg i'm in trouble.

My car died Tuesday on my way to work, driving down the road minding my own business and the engine cuts out.  Sooo, there I sit on the side of the road waiting for a guy from work to come get me.  Get to work, have to call a tow truck and have it towed to the repair place.  The tow truck driver comes and picks up my key, double checks where my poor car is and i say so, do you want my number...(you know just in case he can't find it from my really good directions) and he looks at me and then says, so just in case i want to call you and say hey remember me?  Freaking HIGHLIGHT of my freaking day!  (and yes Tray and Jentle, he was F'ing HAWT)  So my loving parents have been taking me and picking me up from work, that is until yesterday when my mom calls me and says she smashed up their car!  Soooo, picking up a rental car today.

Sooo hoping you all are having a wonderful CALM summer!!

The art of camping ....2013

I try to make a few get aways for Kalli and myself during her summer break. We talk about what we would like to do, where we want to do it and then she decides what happens. A few months ago I became the owner of a camper. So that made a 'camping trip' first on her list of things to do this summer. Some family told me about a nice State Park in east Texas, not too far from home, that sounded like what we wanted. I have some nice memories of family camping trips when I was younger. I have some really cool memories of a few campings trips that we will call 'coed camping' in my younger days. We would gather up things like coleman stoves and lantern, tents, cots, sleeping bags. Beer, bug spray and food. *sighs*. Back to Kalli. The camper that I have now is a nice one. Sleeps eight comfortably. It came with nice soothing colors inside. all window coverings tailor made Nice bluish gray carpet ... mirrored cabinet doors. Sun roof over the tub/shower combo. Refrigerator, built in microwave, an oven, central air and heat. A sound system that was amazing. I thought it strange when Kalli asked to decorate the trailer. It looked ok to me but hey ... she's her mothers daughter. Thats's what they do . No coleman stove and lanters for this gal. Seems the trailer not only had a new mattress in the master bedroom. the bunks also had them. New bedding from sheets to pillows to comforters. The dishes.... no tin pans and cups for her. She picked up new drinking glasses, dishes, pots and pans (even a cookie sheet). She loaded a utensil drawer with florescent potato peelers, wood spoons, neon jiggers, nut cracker, etc. All sorts of plastic containers and plastic serving dishes. Foil, plastic storge bags, toothpicks, matches. styrofoam bowls cups and plates, silverware and plasticware. Charooal, lighter and Matchlight just in case ... butane lighters that look like 8 inch matches. I'm not finished ... she stocked the medicine cabinet with all toiletries. Nail polishes, polish remover and cotton balls. Neon bandaids. Q-tips,peroxide, alcohol, neosporin, bug spray. tanning lotion, sunburn medicine, Midol, Bath and Body spray and lotion. Shampoo, conditioner, razors, bright colored towels and wash clothes, shower curtain, soft body soap, toothpaste, table clothes for different days, special rods for roating weiners or marshmellows, a specific color of plastic hangers. etc ... I'm not finished ... electric can opener, blender, mixer, toaster, coffee pot and crock pot. Her a new rod and reel, curling iron. blow dryer, crimper. Four red, white and blue Texas folding chairs. A lavender ice chest for HER beverages ... luckily for me, I had my own. The colors she tricked this camper out with are ... zebra print, cheetah print, hot pink, all tropical shades, geikos. butterflies and dragonflies. Had some family come out and they were really impressed with HER decorating and stocking abilities. This camper could never go to the deer lease. My cousin suggested letting it be Kalli's living quarters when she heads off to college. My cousin-in-law siad that might not be a very good 'financial' decision for me to make... there was a good chance her 'decorating flavor ' will change and then she would have to redo the inside again. We came home earlier today and as we unpacked what needed to come out of Kalli's camper I asked if she could go any place in the world ... where would she choose. She told me she thought that China would be interesting. As I left the camper leaving her to do the cleaning I told her ... what she set me back on this camping trip ... we could have made a trip to China and back. As I shut the door, she quickly rolled out one of the windows and yelled ... " but I would rather go campin with you in this FLY camper anytime!" OH and btw ... when we went camping the old fashion way, we didn't drink hersheys syrup in milk. Well... me and Kalli did and she spilled a big glass of milk on the carpet. Tomorrow wood planking is being installed in HER Camper. A tent and coleman appliances would not have been the same.

Happy Fathers Day

Wishing all those very special dad's out there a very Happy Father's Day, the ones here with us and the ones looking down on us. I got through the day with a minimal amount of tears, this is a good thing. Thanks to my family and smiles to some good friends, smiles they know who they are. Not sure how many of the guys that used to peek in here still do, so Happy Father's Day to you guys too, and a hoping that Cowboy had a great day.

Happy Fathers Day

They do so many things that we never realize until so much later in our lives. They work a job or two, not too give us all we want, but to make sure we have what we need. They smile and kiss the tip of your nose each night and make sure the monsters are all out of the closet. When you are little, they suprise you and come home from work early to take you to the lake, teaching you to hold your breath and do the doggie paddle all the time trembling as they are petrified of the water. He is there to fix your roller skates and to laugh when you fall down, or to pick you up when you skin your knee. Dad, the first man to ever send you pink carnations and tell you to "break a leg" as you face opening night of your first musical. A dad, who teaches you sportsmanship and that winning is fun, but losing is a lesson we all must learn. He argues with you every night to make sure your homework is done and sacrifices that new car so you can go to college and have more doors open to you then he did. A dad, the man who is always there, standing behind you, encouraging you, praising you when you succeed, holding you when you fail. He is the first man you ever love, your teacher, your friend, your hero. No other man will ever compare to him....

Father's Day .... 2013

Regardless of where we are ... at some point we have to see some similarities in the things our Father's have said to us at times. Some of us have the pleasure of still hearing things like this from our Dad's ... some it's only heard in memories. That's the good stuff. They can't be taken away. I hope a few of the comments below bring a smile to you remembering your Dad ... Happy Father's Day ...* w's at bug * •Don't ask me, ask your mother. •I'll play catch after I read the paper. •Coffee will stunt your growth. •A little dirt never hurt anyone--just wipe it off.. •Get your elbows off the table. •This is your last warning. •I'm not just talking to hear my own voice! •Stop crying or I'll give you a reason to cry. •Don't forget to check your oil. •You could drive a wooden man nuts! •You're only young once. •You're gonna like it, whether you like it or not! •The early bird gets the worm.
