Well it's that time of year again, The Kentucky Derby. Best horse race of the year I think. I just thought I would let you know my pick(s) for the big race tomorrow. I'm taking Midnight Interlude (I'm a romantic at heart) and Twinspired (I think grey horses are so pretty). I'll tell you how I pick horses when I go to the track. First, I look to see who is wearing orange silks...usually at home that is the 7 horse. Then I look to see which one has the cutest jockey. (those little munchkins are all kinda cute) I also check out the horses legs. If it's only like an 8 furlong race, then I pick the guy with short legs. He can get out of the gate and run a little faster than the big guys. However...if it's a mile race, I definitely go with the big guys with long legs...they have more stamina. My final decision is not made until they are leaving the paddock and heading out to the track...you have to wait and see which one poops...they will be lighter and be able to run faster!!!!
As far as my hat for the derby, after last weeks Royal Wedding and looking at the hats they wear in Kentucky, I'm gonna stick with my old favorite. It's not real purdy...but it's comfy.
