Where was I....

I was at work my husband was home watching tv and he called to tell me about the first tower...then there was this ungodly scream from the other end of the line...the second tower had been hit. I work customer service in a call center and we always have to have phone coverage. We didn't care, we all went to the lunch room to watch the news. One of our biggest clients was the NY Port Authority with offices in Tower One, we had field reps and engineers who worked there. We lost a fellow worker that day.

A few nights later, when all was so quiet, there was the sound of a helicopter going over. I lived not far from a NY State Troopers Station back home, and they were out on patrol. It seemed to last forever and sounded like it would crash..I just sat in my own home, frozen, so scared.
No we can never forget and I pray to God every day that we never have to live through it again.

  1. I can't figure out how to post!

I had just got out of the shower when my husband yelled upstairs about the first plane. I wrapped a towel round my hair and flew down and stood behing my chair watching in horror. I thought it was an accident but my husband was pretty sure it hadn't been. We were watching stunned as the second plane hit...I was still standing then and felt my knees buckle, then shortly after that, the Pentagon and the plane that went down in PA! I don't know anyone who watched the towers go down that didn't feel as though their lives had suddenly gone into slow motion. It felt like a dream where you try to scream but no sound comes out!

It was a sad, tragic day mixed with feelings of sorrow for the lives lost and rage against those who perpetrated those horrific acts! Today was a day to mourn and one day I will make it to Ground Zero to pay my respects to those who died that day and to all the men and women who have since given their lives to keep us safe!
