Almost Home ...

I want to thank all of you for your kind posts.

Every post has made a sad time sparkle a little. I admittedly stayed away from the blog to allow myself time to clear my head so to understand the words all of you left.

The last few days have been a time of craziness for my family. Trying to make some sense out of this sudden death. Trying to find words that would pacify my nieces and nephews. Trying to assure and comfort the wife, the mother and the sister of this man.

The service is 10 AM Monday morning. While at the funeral home my sister-in-law realizes that that is Valentines Day., the day my brother proposed to her years ago. She started thinking she needed to change the service for Tuesday for sentimental reasons. She asked my opinion… I told her “ to change the day to Tuesday … THAT day would always be referred to as ‘the day after he proposed’ … to change it to Wednesday would make it ‘THAT day two days after’ … there are 365 days to pick from … NONE of them will seem right. All of our hearts are broken and involved in this … we have a lot to get through.” she agreed that was what we needed.

I have been asked to speak at the ‘Celebration of Life’ for my brother tomorrow.

I could talk about him for days … but I still don’t have my thoughts together.

The song I’ve posted was one of his favorites.

Now he is home.

I kinda miss and like all of you ... *smiles*
